Vancouver Farming Co. is a non-profit farming organization that feeds the members of our community who need it most, first. Feeding those community members unprocessed, nutrient dense, organic food is a key foundational component for their wellbeing and success.
The food we grow is donated primarily to local marginalized Indigenous communities. We are currently looking for programs, kitchens and other organizations to support.
Some of our community members, due to varying factors, rely on food banks, fast food restaurants, donations and government funding to eat. The foods they eat are usually seconds, close to or past their expiration date, highly processed, unhealthy and nutrient free. Other community members struggle to have access to food at all.
We believe by growing unprocessed, nutrient dense, organic food and providing it directly to our community members who need it most will be a step towards supporting them from the ground up, literally. In combination with other supportive programs that focus on housing, healthcare, and other key factors, this will contribute to their success.
Healthy, nutritious, and organic food should be available to all, regardless of one's financial or social position. Through networking, raising awareness, and community outreach, we believe that we will foster a significant and widespread movement that advocates for supporting those community members who struggle to access this basic necessities. We strive to cultivate a movement that inspires other community organizations as well as the city to offer their support.
